June 2021 Event:
We had a great first annual event, Saturday June 12th, with 12 non-profit organizations represented and some of the greatest ever volunteers, including the Brigham City Youth Council and the Box Elder High School Drill team. What a fun day and fun group of people joining us. There were 22 runners who completed in the 5K with 17 year old Gerardo Reynaza of Brigham City being our top runner at 23:45 minutes. Our other runners in the top 3 were Clint Flinders of Brigham City (24:40 Minutes) in the 35-44 age group, and Jason Beagley of Tremonton (24:57 minutes) in the 45-54 age group. A couple hundred people came out to meet our Non-profits and join in the youth/family games and activities. A big thank you also to all our sponsors and donors. We were also grateful for support and discounts from Box Elder News Journal, Cover-up (tee shirt) Printing, and Zion's Bank.

More about the June 2022 event
This was the second annual Box Elder Runs Strong event. We had a great weather and a great time and look forward to an even bigger event next year.
THE 5K: We had 50 runners sign up this year. And it looks like we will have more corporate support next year as the corporate competition looks like it will be heating up. We are grateful to Vulcraft Utah for signing up 20+ of the 5K runners. They get the title of the most Community Supportive Employee's team.
THE COMPANY RUN: was new this year and an event that we enjoyed. We invited local businesses to show their stuff by putting together a 1-4 person relay team to wear or carry product or signage that best represents their product or service. We had 7 teams do the challenge and they did not disappoint.
CREATIVES BOOTHS & MORE: We had 22 local non-profits represented with a lot of free, family friendly hands on activities and crafts to come see and participate in. They were all excited to be present, share their stories, tell you about volunteer opportunities, and meet their mission one bit better by offering an interactive activity. To learn more about the nonprofits involved, click non-profit partner link. If you hover over the nonprofit partners tab at the top of the page and then click on the individual nonprofits listed, it will lead you to websites and more information.
YOUTH & FAMILY EVENTS:
Bike Parade: 20 + Youth brought bikes and helmets and decorated their bikes for a bike ride around the courthouse. This was sponsored by the Box Elder Community Pantry.
Hero race: We had over 25 youth show up to don masks and capes and join Spider man, Superman, and super lamb in a race around the courthouse. Capes and masks were provided by the Brigham Suicide Prevention program.
The Pet Walk: We had a few people bring their favorite well behaved pet and join the crowd as they parade around the block and show off their stuff. They offered - prizes and awards for tricks and costumes and more.
DONATIONS: All donations collected on this day will go directly to helping many of our smaller non-profits. Check out the Non-profit Partner page for more information. Kiwanis matched the first $1500 of donations collected. A final tally will be available later this week. But we are hoping to raise a little more to really benefit the 13 nonprofits registered. Please consider any way you can help big or small! Donations link
